Position Summary

WSH Management is currently recruiting for an Assistant Manager for a 140-unit lease up apartment community located in Hayward, near Mission Boulevard and Industrial Parkway.

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week and is not required to live on site.

Job Duties

The Assistant Manager is responsible for effectively computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete while assisting with the leasing, marketing, affordable housing program compliance and resident relations for the community.

• Assist with marketing creating flyers on Publisher, following affirmative marketing requirements, pre-qualifying applicants, application processing, preparing & tracking compliance paperwork, and reviewing lease paperwork for applicants move-in.
• Assist Resident Manager with day to day operations and reporting
• Receive all telephone calls and in-person visits.
• Listen to resident requests, concerns and comments.
• Work closely with Maintenance Technician to ensure work orders are completed.
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
• Provide general clerical assistance to community office. Qualifications
  
  While we are proud to offer on-the-job training for all positions, we prefer you to start with the following experience:
  • A minimum one-year experience in a customer service-related industry or one year apartment leasing experience or a combination of accounting skills/education with customer service experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tax Credit program (preferred)
  • Competence in operation of telephone, business calculator, copy machine, facsimile, personal computer/keyboard, Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Hard working with the desire to obtain on the job training.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record and provide proof of vehicle insurance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. Must possess strong attention to detail and sales ability.
  • Candidate will be required to pass a background and drug screening. (A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment with WSH Management.)

    Compensation
    • Base Pay Start Rate: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour.
