Director of OperationsThe Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing cemetery and facility operations, including grounds, building and fleet maintenance, mortuary staff and operations, the work of Family Environment Specialists who are responsible for funeral services, monument placement, general grounds keeping. The Director of Operations is also involved in developing and maintaining processes and procedures streamlining operational efficiencies and improving safety across all cemetery locations.The Director of Operations will demonstrate by example, CFCS's Core Values-Share the Journey, Serve with Care, and Make It Happen-in all their dealings with families, staff, and internal/external contacts.Reporting to the Director of Cemeteries & Funerals, the Director of Operations interacts with Location Managers, Regional Operations Managers, Family Environment Specialists, Family Service Advisors, Mortuary Service Staff, and other location personnel and departments.Job ResponsibilitiesMeet operational goals relative to budget, schedule attainment, operating efficiencies, and labor utilizationDevelop operational budgets for cemeteries, mortuary, and laborCreates and maintain mortuary schedules to meet service objectives and manage inbound and outbound case loadDevelop and implement transportation efficiency strategiesAnalyze demand for vehicles, equipment, cemetery supplies and forecast future needsManage facility and vehicle maintenance programs; health & safety programs; OSHA inspection and preparednessDirect operations managers and grounds personnelManage vendor relations and contract fulfillmentEvaluate bids and proposals submitted by potential suppliers and service vendorsStudy ways to efficiently utilize facility spaceProvide daily, weekly and monthly progress reporting relative to operational targetsGather and maintain logistics dataWork with Mission Programs Team to develop training curriculum and deliveryEnsure full compliance with company policies, regulatory and local health mandatesRequirementsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or equivalent relevant work experienceSolid knowledge of logistics7 years proven work experience as an Operations Manager or Logistics ManagerDemonstrated ability to manage changeExcellent communication skills, verbal and written, including detailed written reportsExcellent organizational and negotiation skillsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals, and traditionsSafety-oriented, including use of PPE, equipment safeguards, and safe practicesAble to assess health, safety, and environmental conditions in accordance with regulatory standards, identify hazardous conditions, and develop preventative action plans that reduce hazardous and noncompliant situationsComfortable managing the 3rd party vendors related to the above two areas and, in addition, the main facility annual compliance inspectionsAbility to work with divisional team regarding cemetery development and capital project executionAbility to investigate accidents and incidents, identify causes, and implement corrective and preventative actionsAbility to manage operational deadlines, work orders, and burials as scheduledAble to perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairLift and carry objects weighing between 100-150 lbs.; push or pull up to 300 lbs. on a wheeled cart; work outdoors in all types of weather conditionsProficient in the use of computers, software, and technologyLicenses and CertificationsValid state issued driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance is requiredCompetitive salary and full benefits package for employees.
