We are currently seeking a dedicated Branch Manager to join our winning team at our Hayward, CA branch. The Branch Manager will be responsible for demonstrating the Producers Dairy Core Values and carrying out our purpose of Nourishing Lives. The Branch Manager has responsibility for the market's branch operation and distribution routes dedicated to this facility. This role will deliver all financial commitments, build organization capability by utilizing the Guiding Principles and performance management, instill a safety culture, integrate Continuous Improvement (CI) processes and principles, and develop solutions to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities:Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Sales

  • Meeting financial objectives for both sales volume and expense budget controls.
  • KOI performance data.
  • Monitor the performance of the branch against established
  • Maintain communication with the Regional & Sales Manager regarding:
    • sales responsibilities of the branch
    • competitive activity
    • product quality problems
    • customer credit, service, or other problems
    • areas of business opportunity
    • identify and target new accounts and potential volume
    • work with Sales team to properly establish routing on new accounts
    • Effectively manage existing accounts including:
      • Ensure account information (email address, phone, bill to and ship to) are current.
      • Manage use and placement of Point of Sale (POS) material by branch RSRs.
      • Manage the control of shelf space and
      • Communicate with Key Account Managers on distributor account volume trends and collections.
      • Assist Sales/Marketing with coordination of special events, including delivery of needed equipment.
        Route Efficiencies
        • Telogis: Monitor all RSRs are utilizing Telogis daily.
        • Maintain efficient routes that adhere to service policy for account service and to route workload standards for productivity.
        • Monitor route productivity data daily. Review and update daily or as needed to maintain routing efficiencies.
        • Review and release Paragon no later than 20 minutes after branch cut time.
        • Properly maintain Route Accounting Metrics via intranet daily.
        • Ensure proper service and product quantities are provided to all accounts.
        • Manage proper product ordering by RSRs, to maximize sales and maintain dump levels at or below goal.
        • Coordinate transport schedules to branch with Transportation Manager, considering the needs of wholesale routes, distributors, and major customers.
        • Work with RSRs to manage collection of outstanding empty cases.
        • Manage inventory levels on fleet vehicles to ensure daily and weekly inventory reviews are conducted and verified.
        • Manage efficiencies of load-out functions.
          Safety
          • Complete three (3) EHS safety observations per week.
          • Conduct monthly safety inspection of branch.
          • Lead weekly safety meeting with branch team.
          • Review daily vehicle reports for DOT requirements through Telogis.
          • Report any accident or injury immediately and/or within 24 hours utilizing
          • Conduct end-of-day inspection of vehicles to ensure refrigeration is operating and for any damage incurred during route.
          • Manage repairs and maintenance of fleet equipment, yard, dock, facility, and other branch equipment. Communicate all repairs to Fresno garage and Regional Manager and indicate all repairs that are likely to exceed $500.
            Leadership
            • Maintain proper staffing for branch, considering effects of seasonality, school, routes, etc.
            • Manage and train all new hires using the New Hire Training Manuel with signoff by Manager and Team Member, and forward to Human Resources for employment file.
            • Maintain a route ride schedule for both Branch Manager and Supervisor, with no less than six (6) rides per quarter. Complete appropriate documentation and forward to Human Resources.
            • As needed, perform RSR duties to serve customer needs efficiently and expeditiously. This includes, but is not limited to covering route in absence of available driver.
            • Know, understand, and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
            • Ensure that all personnel understand and adhere to Company policies.
            • Maintain appropriate dress and personal appearance standards.
            • Promote and maintain Company goodwill in all Maintain a positive image of the Company.
            • Adhere to all applicable Federal, State, County and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of milk and dairy products.
              Human Resources
              • Verify biweekly payroll/timecards and monitor hours worked against standards. Ensure accuracy of timecards prior to payroll close.
              • Complete 90-day evaluations of new hires in a timely manner and provide appropriate documentation to Human Resources.
              • Monitor and evaluate branch team members against available performance standards (job descriptions, KOIs). Consult with Regional Manager and Human Resources on any performance issues.
              • Assist Human Resources in recruitment and hiring of open positions, including, but not limited to assessing candidate qualifications, interviewing, participating in onboarding of new hires, and completing appropriate documents.
              • In coordination with Human Resources, administer appropriate disciplinary measures as needed and termination when recommended.
              • Other responsibilities as assigned.
                Qualifications:

                Minimum:
                • High School Diploma or GED.
                • Valid Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver License and clean DMV record.
                • Continuous improvement mindset.
                • Ability to motivate and influence others.
                • Strong customer focus.
                • Strong ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees.
                • Regulatory knowledge in applicable federal, state, and local guidelines (DOT, OSHA, DMV).
                • MUST be available to work extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.
                  Preferred:
                  • 3+ years prior leadership experience.
                  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite.
                  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
                  • Working knowledge of Employee Health & Safety Practices.
                  • Experience with handheld computers and other store receiving platforms.
