Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years in Neuro ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC (preferred) Must-Have: Must have neuro experience with at least 1 year in Neuro ICU Description: Locals accepted with a 50-mile travel requirement. Local candidates should confirm they are aware that they are accepted at a lower bill rate. California RN license and certifications must be in hand to submit. Weekend requirement: every other weekend. Patient ratios: 1:2. Epic charting experience is required. Floating to ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department may be necessary. Preferred previous charge experience. Experience in Level II Trauma and community hospital settings is preferred. Travel experience is required. Skills include managing and accessing ports, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Additional skills: care of ventilated patients, central line care, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction. Knowledge in using high flow nasal cannula and ICP monitoring is essential. The unit has a daily census of 18 to 22 patients with 24 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics with complex needs, including post-surgical and trauma care. Candidates should be ready to manage acute stroke patients requiring detailed and frequent neuro checks. The ICU team supports each other in a fast-paced environment with quick patient throughput. All certifications must be AHA and in hand during the submission process. Please ensure to disclose any background issues prior to submission. Return staff who have been gone for one year must go through a re-hire process.
