  • Contact Give us a call 844-STAFF-01 Payroll Coordinator Chartwell Staffing Solutions Published March 19, 2021 Location Hayward, California Category Payroll Analysts Job Type Full-time Pay Rate $20.00 - $22.00/hour Description Position Description, Qualifications & Desired Experience:The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for accurately processing payroll information according to Chartwell standards while meeting strict weekly deadlines. This position supports one or more Chartwell staffing branches and will be required to coordinate with people spanning multiple locations including Chartwell's payroll team, Chartwell's branches, our clients, and our temporary and staff employees.Job Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Gathers timesheets from each client team and employee.
    • As needed, converts from one-time convention to another including hours to minutes, quarters of an hour, and decimal hours.
    • Processes payroll with 100% accuracy while meeting strict weekly deadlines.
    • Ensures that all parties submit payroll to Chartwell on time by working ahead to communicate deadlines and hold people accountable to meet all deadlines.
    • Consistently follows Chartwell's standard payroll process and make use of Chartwell's standard tools.
    • Sets up new employees and rates - this is done at the branch level.
    • Validates and audits work as needed to ensure a zero-error-rate. This may include reconciling and re-checking information with other standards.
    • Ensures payroll and time worked complies with local and federal rules including overtime and breaks, and Chartwell policies.
    • Administers other payroll impacts including garnishments, direct deposits, taxation issues, or other related payroll matters.
    • Addresses unclaimed paychecks.
    • Processes manual checks when needed, including urgent same-day payment needs.
    • Receives, researches and resolves issues and questions regarding payroll from clients, Chartwell branches and employees.
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.Preferences, Requirements and Qualifications
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Minimum of one year of experience in payroll, staffing or human resources support
      • Excellent data entry skills.
      • Accuracy and attention to detail.
      • Ability to self-check and audit your own work.
      • A basic knowledge of federal and local payroll regulations.
      • Ability to build productive working relationships with an extended team located in multiple locations through email and telephone conversations.
      • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
      • Proficiency with computer payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
      • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding payroll and other private information.
      • Ability to communicate professionally through live conversations and email.
      • Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer/software applications.
