Curriculum Developer role. At Galileo Learning, the Curriculum
Developer is a key member of our Curriculum & Instruction
Department-a team that develops rich, riveting original projects
and courses that spark curiosity, capture attention and ultimately
turn Galileo campers into fearless innovators. Our curriculum
guides K-5th grade campers to design and build impressive,
STEAM-based projects such as a working handheld vacuum, a sturdy
pinball machine or a sit-on rocking pet - all made from everyday
materials like cardboard, paper cups, and craft foam. Our middle
schoolers might use wood and power tools to create a go-kart they
can ride in, a remote-controlled robot or a themed escape room.
This visionary team welcomes intellectual intensity, thrives on
collaboration and feedback, are the torchbearers of our pedagogy, ,
and have a reputation for hosting elaborately themed celebrations.
YOU WILL
- You'll dream up, tinker and prototype, highly-engaging,
hands-on design & engineering projects that spark the imagination
of Galileo campers (PreK-10th graders), delight their families and
differentiate Galileo programs from the rest.
- You'll create clear and supportive, multimedia, digital
curriculum guides that use photos, gifs and video t0 enable
instructors to bring the projects and program to life while
ensuring the seamless integration of the Galileo Innovation
Approach, our proprietary pedagogy.
- You'll consistently empathize with your end users -Galileo
summer staff and campers. You'll create content for instructor
professional development and training, and provide insight and
support to instructional staff during the summer, helping to ensure
they feel heard, prepared, and inspired to lead.
- You'll be a vital and collaborative member of the Galileo
Curriculum & Instruction team, supporting other curriculum
activities and initiatives as needed, and collaborating with the
Supply Chain team to identify materials best suited for our needs
and budget. YOU ARE

You have deep knowledge of design or building techniques and will
relish the opportunity to create innovation-oriented projects &
curriculum for our one-of-a-kind program.
- You're a master communicator and multimedia producer. You are a
fast and prolific writer who knows exactly how to make a picture
(or gif, illustration, etc.) that's worth 1000 words and develop
digital curriculum guides that set students and instructors up for
success.
- You're a skilled collaborator. You have confidence contributing
to a creative vision and proven ability to work with others to
realize that vision. You thrive in a highly iterative environment
where giving and receiving feedback (on works in progress) is at
the center your practice
- You're an experienced educator with deep empathy. You have a
demonstrated and robust understanding of educators' needs,
classroom dynamics, and social-emotional development of K-8
children.
- You're a flexible thinker, creative problem-solver and a quick
learner. You meet challenges with enthusiasm and have the ability
to think big picture and still sweat the small stuff. You are
curious at heart and can teach yourself anything. COMPENSATION We
anticipate the compensation for this Full-Time, exempt, position to
be $66,560- $75,000. Exact compensation may vary and will be based
on multiple factors, including geography and professional

would be based in the Bay Area. Galileo Headquarters, 1021 3rd
Street, Oakland, CA 94607. Galileo currently adheres to a hybrid
office and work from home policy. More information to be provided
during the interview stage.SCHEDULE
- Regular office hours averaging 40-45 hours per week
- Occasional weekend work (approximately 3-5 times per
year)Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience to demonstrate
subject matter expertise in education, art & design, engineering,
or related fields
- 3+ years in educational settings, specifically designing
project-based learning activities that are hands-on and engage
students in creative problem-solving.
- Experience creating multimedia educational content, such as
digital curriculum guides featuring photos, GIFs, and video, and
basic photography and video production skills are a plus.
- Deep understanding of K-8 classroom dynamics, educator needs,
and student social-emotional development.
- A deep well of project ideas and maker/tinkering skills along
with a proven track record of collaborating in an iterative and
feedback oriented design process to bring those ideas to life.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and producing on
a schedule with regular deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable
of producing clear instructional materials and effectively
