As a Lead Engineer at Venteur, you will play a crucial role in driving the delivery of our products and applications, directly impacting the lives of thousands of individuals who rely on Venteur for their health insurance needs. As a leader on the Fintech team, some of what you will initially drive is improving the scalability and robustness of our ledgers, financial rails, and autonomous payment workflows. Transparency, accuracy, and consistency are paramount to engender trust with our customers. You will drive the team's efforts in the delivery of our products and applications, directly impacting the lives of thousands of individuals who rely on Venteur for their health insurance needs. You will collaborate directly with our CEO and other members of our Engineering, Product, Finance, Growth, and Customer teams in-person at our office near San Francisco's Financial District. Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical, operational, and business requirements for our platform. Design and build end-to-end experiences for the Venteur platform, focusing on usability, scalability, and performance. Architect efficient and scalable systems to meet customer demand and enhance user experiences. Work closely with designers, engineers, operations, and customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that exceed expectations. Continuously analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of our systems. Contribute to recruiting efforts and messaging; lead and mentor new hires and other engineers. Who you are: We highly value engineers who emphasize engineering excellence and for us that means: Technical Mastery Analytical Problem Solving Collaboration & Communication Adaptability & Resilience Growth Mindset & Continuous Improvement …with these specific skills: Strong technical background, including 7 years of experience building impactful products at scale. Both front-end and back-end experience coupled with anything it takes to solve problems and delight users both internally and externally. Commitment to high-quality code that is tested thoroughly, supported by clear documentation, and has appropriate production observability. High degree of empathy for both internal and external customers. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills that allow you to work effectively with distributed team members. Strong computer science fundamentals and knowledge of data structures, OOP, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval. You have a strong fintech background, having navigated financial regulatory requirements while delivering technological solutions. You are familiar with accounting principles and the fiduciary responsibilities associated with holding funds as a product.
