Job Description:
Stanford University is seeking a highly motivated Life Science
Research Professional 1 to join a laboratory studying fundamentals
of human immunology in order to develop cutting edge
immunotherapies for pediatric cancer patients. You will be working
with Dr. Mark Davis, a world leader in immunology and Howard Hughes
Medical Investigator, and Dr. Adrienne Long, a pediatric oncology
post-doctoral fellow in his lab. As an LSRP 1, your duties will
include processing human samples, cell culture, performing
classical immunology experiments (flow cytometry, ELISA), and
participating in cutting edge single cell experiments (including
CyTOF, single cell RNA-seq, and single cell ATAC-seq). You will
work closely with the principal investigators and other scientists
at Stanford University, Stanford Cancer Center, and the Lucile
Packard Children's Hospital. You will function largely
independently on a daily basis after training, with close guidance
and supervision from Dr. Long. Your work will be central to several
major research projects, and co-authorship on high-impact
publications is expected.
The research will require you to be adaptable and able to work in a
fast-paced environment. Learning new techniques in the lab or from
other labs to increase expertise will be encouraged. Candidates
should have excellent communication skills, be highly organized,
and comfortable with new technology. BS degree, or equivalent, with
previous experience in laboratories is required. This position will
provide an outstanding experience for a career in science,

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The desired candidate should have experience in techniques such as
cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation, and PCR.
Experience in flow cytometry, CyTOF, single cell RNA-seq, and
bioinformatics is preferred but not required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree in related scientific field.
