Job Description:
Position Summary
The position directs, plans, and implements all aspects of
construction for the successful execution of the project in terms
of logistics, cost, schedule, quality, and safety relative to field
operations. This involves working with a dynamic team of
contractors, engineers, architects, and like-minded project/program
managers. You will be responsible for controlling projects to
ensure direction, coordination, and implementation of deliverables
that fall within the applicable scope and budget.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Meet operational standards by contributing construction information
to strategic plans and reviews
Implement, productivity, quality, and customer-service
standards
Resolving problems, identifying construction management system
improvements
Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging
construction practices and standards
Contribute to entitlement progress to ensure value engineering and
cost-effectiveness
Meet the construction budget by monitoring project expenditures,
Identifying variance implementing corrective actions, and providing
non-project annual operating and capital budget information
Accomplish construction projects result by defining project purpose
and scope
Establish standards and protocols; allocating resources; schedule
and coordinate staff and subcontractors, plan work and allocate
tasks to teams on site, and manage the labor allocation to
different tasks
Evaluating milestones assumptions and conclusions
Resolving design problems and evaluating and implementing change
orders, suggesting and resolving clashes and production errors
Manage local site take-offs and ordering of materials needed for
completion of tasks and assignments
Approves construction projects by conducting an inspection at
critical phases; obtaining approvals
Safety
Development of the project-specific safety manual with support from
the Project Team. Request support from the Corporate Safety
Director as needed.
Execution of the Job Start-up checklist upon site mobilization to
ensure all safety elements are in place prior to field
activities.
Understanding and adherence to all OSHA and or other AHJ
regulations.
Assure strict adherence to all relevant and legally required safety
posting and Right-to-Know - MSDS requirements.
Direct labor to implement/install and maintain safety elements as
required.
Review and approve of all pre-task plans by subcontractors and or
personnel. Delegate this activity as appropriate and monitor
daily.
Conduct weekly safety meetings with all mobilized subcontractors
and or personnel.
Enforce safety procedures and address any violations immediately.
Take disciplinary action as required and allowed per Company
policies.
Conduct weekly safety inspections with or without a Corporate
Safety Director or on-site safety officer.
Report immediately and document all incidents within 24 hours of
occurrence
Scheduling
Develop the baseline Master Schedule along with the assigned
Project Team. Must buy into the schedule prior to initial release
and distribution
Manage to meet or exceed the Master Schedule objectives. All
mobilizations, activity performance, self-performed work,
jurisdictional inspections, etc. shall all be communicated and
executed in accordance with the schedule
Understand the project's critical path
Communicate and drive the project schedule in daily/weekly
Coordination Meetings via the Rolling Schedule and obtain updates
and buy-in
Update the schedule or provide weekly updates for status updating
and adjusting the Master Schedule
Document and communicate any schedule delays timely to the Project
Team for notification
Quality Control
Conduct pre-installation meetings to discuss quality control
requirements for installation
Conduct periodic quality control inspections to assure installed
work adheres to contractual quality requirements. Document these
inspections
Participate in the identification of punch list items prior to
formal punch list walk-through
Expedite the correction of punch list items and back-check
completion status prior to formal final walk-thru
Training
Participate in all training sessions on various disciplines
Be diligent in the development of skills and knowledge as able
through on-the-job exposure
Willingness to learn new construction processes related to modular
designs and construction
Willingness to train and develop other team members
Technical
Must have a strong working knowledge of all disciplines,
particularly CSA trades, to resolve challenges, conflicts, design
issues, etc. promptly and/or through the assistance of specialists
as required
Appropriate knowledge of MEP disciplines is required for the
coordination and verification of MEP installation progress. A Dome
MEP specialist if assigned to your project will complement your
responsibility in this area in dealing with complex issues and
commissioning
Must have the ability to read and understand all plans and
specifications for each trade and enforce sub compliance with said
documents
Must have basic computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft
Outlook and Office
Plangrid/BIM 360 experience a plus but must be willing to learn
otherwise
Document Control
Maintain all permit documents and current construction documents at
the job site. Shall be directly responsible for updating drawings
or delegate appropriately to others such as a Project Team
Produce thorough daily construction reports with particular focus
on the following information:
Headcount of personnel & subcontractor trades by discipline
Description of self-performed work and work by sub-trades. Document
any OT or DT hours worked and by whom
Document any owner and designer directives received
Document any cases for back charges by offending subcontractors
Document any issues causing potential schedule delays or cost
impacts. The project Manager shall be notified immediately if such
an issue occurs
Document any notifications of cost or schedule impact received by
subcontractors. The PM shall be notified immediately if such
notification is received
When applicable, collect daily reports from subcontractors to act
as attachments to daily reports
Conduct weekly review of subcontractor as-built drawing updating to
ensure timely capture of information especially prior to any
cover-up
Requirements, Knowledge and Experience
5 + Years of field construction experience as a commercial or
residential Superintendent.
OSHA - 30 Training
In-depth knowledge of the construction processes, including
scheduling, manpower, meeting construction budget, quality control,
safety regulations, timelines, and equipment usage and
coordination
Candidates must have the following characteristics: Integrity, be

Experience with LGS frame and Heavy steel construction - a plus
Self-motivated, proactive approach to solving problems and managing
site issues

Drives accountability from the entire team; utilizes procedures &
best practices to promote accountability in a proactive, positive
manner
