Prellis Biologics is seeking a Chemist to drive the development
of next-generation, biocompatible ink formulations to 3D print
tissue scaffolds using 2-photon holography. This role requires
polymer synthesis and characterization experience. The ideal
candidate will be comfortable working in the laboratory and with
Prellis printers to test ink formulations. Please fill out the form

Drive the development of new polymer formulations (inks) to 3D
print tissue scaffolds using 2-photon polymerization on Prellis
Apply your understanding of polymer structure-property
relationships to optimize ink chemistry to deliver printed
scaffolds that meet the requirements of new workflows and products
on the roadmap.
Contribute to the generation of intellectual property for new inks
and printed scaffolds.
Characterize ink raw materials, ink formulations, and printed
scaffolds using appropriate analytical methods. This will sometimes
involve working with external laboratories to perform
Collaborate with internal teams such as Biology and Manufacturing
to monitor the performance of inks and printed scaffolds.
Troubleshoot issues with inks and scaffolds.
Define quality control (QC) metrics for inks and printed scaffolds.
Develop tests to quantitatively measure those metrics.
Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to formulate, print,
and QC new inks. Perform technology transfer with
--- Skills and Experience:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Engineering
with a strong academic record. Research experience with polymer
chemistry and characterization. Outstanding M.S. candidates with
relevant industry experience will be considered.
Hands-on experience with polymer synthesis, formulation, and
characterization. Experience with photopolymerizable hydrogels and
free-radical polymerization is desired. 3D printing experience is a
Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as NMR, FTIR
spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography (LC), UV-Vis
spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Experience with characterization techniques for polymers and
viscoelastic materials such as rheometry, differential scanning
calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and gel
permeation chromatography (GPC).
Rigorous scientist who designs and conducts careful experiments,
maintains detailed records in laboratory notebooks, and develops
robust, transferrable processes.
Surface and interfacial chemistry experience - particularly with
the chemical modification of surfaces for cell culture.
Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical

and cell biology techniques.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
