Our industry is in the midst of unprecedented growth and shortages of computer chips.Job Purpose Summary:The Maintenance Technician position is primarily focused on facility and capital equipment installation, and preventative and unscheduled maintenance of all facets of the facility including the upkeep and upgrades of the plant. This position requires a high degree of ownership and responsibility for managing labor and materials to assure tasks and projects are conducted and completed timely and correctly by both direct and indirect involvement (assigning and supervising other technicians).Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and utilize the computer based Maintenance Management software to generate and track work orders, PM tasks, and spare parts inventory lists. Be familiar with and utilize features within the software to generate periodic reports for management review.
    • Understand and follow preventative maintenance procedures as assigned to the department to assure consistent and reliable operation of critical equipment, and effectively respond to unscheduled repair tasks in timely manners as to minimize undue impact to scheduled production.
      • Generate and maintain complete records of all maintenance activities including PM---s, scheduled, and unscheduled work orders.
        • Create periodic reports for management review of all maintenance department activities and/or project updates.
          • Maintain the inventory of defined spare parts by periodically checking inventory levels and generating purchase order requests for needed items.
            • Be familiar with the standard supplier base to effectively define and locate appropriate spare or replacement parts from supplier catalogs.
              • Understand and be able to operate waste water management systems as back-up to the Waste Water Technician, following waste treatment procedures as directed by engineering to assure consistent and compliant storage, treatment, and discharge of all industrial wastes (liquids and solids), along with the generation and submittal of all associated records. Additionally, this position, when necessary as back-up, will be responsible for the storage, treatment, and discharge of all industrial wastes in a manner as to not cause undue impact to production cycles.
                • Effectively distribute, communicate and oversee special tasks to the Wastewater Tech
                  • Chemical Clean, Chemical Polish, CO2 Clean, Passivate, Bead Blast/Texturize, Clean Room Packaging, Strip-Decontaminate, Plasma-Flame Spray Coating
                  • and Lab Tech positions, if any. Additionally, this position is responsible for the
                  • supervision of supplemental staff occasionally assigned to special projects.--Any other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
                    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two plus year---s related experience and or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Technical certificate, associates degree in a related field, and/or experience in chemical plant maintenance preferred. At the discretion of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, parts of this requirement may be waived.
                      • Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronics aptitude skills.
                      • A thorough understanding of production plant requirements with regard to generators, compressed air/gas systems, blowers / fans, pump and piping systems, chemical media delivery systems, basic hydraulics and fluid dynamics, and fork lift / material handling equipment operation.
                      • A thorough understanding of production operations and structure, as well as the ability to interpret queries and comments to succinctly create and act upon maintenance schedules that minimize impact to production efforts.
                      • A comprehensive understanding of production plant requirements with regards to filtration, compressed gases, heating / cooling systems, pumps, piping systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.
                      • Willing and able to work non-production hours as necessary
                        Work Environment:
                        • Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must be able to perform in noisy, moist, or wet environments with standard protection devices. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding to perform essential tasks. Must be able to handle necessary tools to perform tasks, including a variety of meters, sensors, fluid and or air/gas monitors, and heavy equipment that will need to be towed or moved through the production environment with little assistance.Physical Demands:Must Pass Company required screening tests. Must be able to pass respirator health and fit testing. Must be in reasonably fit condition to climb tank ladders and ladders to lower level sump area in waste treatment areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach with hands and arms, and perform light lifting duties (up to 50 pounds) without assistance, push or pull heavy loads (up to 750 lbs) with basic material handling equipment, and perform walk throughs in production and service areas continuously.
