Job Description:
Job Description Job Description About Us: We are nEye Systems, a
next generation optical switch company. Our FPPIC (fast
programmable photonic integrated circuit) integrates high-radix
optical circuit switching on a Si chip and is a future-proof
solution for Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML)
systems and other high-performance computing environments. Our
optical switches are poised to solve some of the biggest challenges
facing the growth and adoption of AI/ML – the excessive costs of
power requirements and network expansion. We are a well-funded,
early-stage company and will be a key player in several
multibillion $ markets. About the Role: As a Metrology Technician
at nEye, you will play a critical role in supporting the
development and manufacturing of next-generation optoelectronic and
MEMS devices. Working in a cleanroom environment, you will prepare
samples, operate advanced metrology equipment, and ensure
measurement accuracy through careful calibration and statistical
process documentation. This role is highly hands-on and
collaborative, working closely with reliability and failure
analysis engineers to identify process deviations and maintain high
product quality. If you thrive in precision-driven environments and
enjoy contributing to cutting-edge technology, this position offers
the opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, high-impact team. Key
Responsibilities Work in a cleanroom environment, wearing personal
protection equipment (PPE) and strictly following all relevant
safety protocols. Prepare samples for experiments and analysis
including but not limited to cleaning, cross sectioning, and
mounting and unmounting samples. Perform basic inspections and
quality control measurements using optical microscopes. Operate
various advanced semiconductor metrology tools for device
characterization. Perform calibrations to ensure proper operation
of metrology tools. Document and report process data in accordance
with principles of statistical process control. Collaborate with
reliability and failure analysis engineers to identify,
troubleshoot and resolve process deviations and issues in the
manufacturing processes. Maintain a clean and orderly work
environment Minimum Qualifications: Associate or bachelor's degree
in an engineering field. Familiarity with safety protocols in
cleanroom and lab environments. Ability to read and follow standard
operating procedures (SOPs). Strong attention to detail with the
ability to identify process deviation or issues. Effective verbal
and written communication skills. Ability to stand for extended
periods of time. Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Preferred Skills: 3 years of hands-on experience working with MEMS
and optoelectronic devices. Proficiency in operating advanced
metrology tools including confocal microscope, profilometers, probe
stations, etc. Familiarity with micro and nano-scale critical
dimensions. Experience in writing SOPs. Experience using soldering
iron to install or rework SMT and through-hole components on
printed circuit boards. Experience soldering and testing cable
assemblies. Starting hourly rate and title will depend on, and be
commensurate with, relevant experience, skills, training,
education, market demands, and the ultimate job duties and
requirements. nEye is an Equal Opportunity Employer . All qualified
